Planning your trip from Da Nang to the charming ancient town of Hoi An, or vice versa? The local bus is the cheapest way to travel, and thanks to a recent upgrade, it’s now more comfortable than ever. Forget the old, crowded buses—a new, efficient public-private service is running the route!
This guide, updated for 2025, provides everything you need to know about taking the Bus Da Nang Hoi An, including the new route, fares, and essential traveler tips.
Since April 2024, the route between Da Nang and Hoi An has been served by a new, improved service: Bus 02. This line replaces the old Bus 01.
This service is a partnership between Danangbus (Da Nang’s public bus system) and the popular private operator, Futa Bus Lines. The result is a significant upgrade in quality:
The journey is technically divided into two segments, but you do not need to change buses. It is a continuous trip on the same shuttle.
| Segment | Route | Price (VND) |
| LK-02 Trip | Hoi An ↔ Vietnam/Korea University (in Da Nang) | 15,000 VND |
| 02 Trip | Vietnam/Korea University ↔ Da Nang Bus Station | 16,000 VND |
For the full journey from Hoi An Bus Station to Da Nang Central Bus Station, the total cost is: 31.000 VND
This is still significantly cheaper than a taxi or a private car service!
The most convenient place for travelers to catch the bus is at the Hoi An Bus Station (on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street), especially if you are staying in the Old Town or near An Bang beach.

The bus doesn’t stop directly at the bus station. Instead, it stops at a new bus stop sign about 50 meters away. Since there is no bus shelter, waiting for the bus can be uncomfortable in the tropical heat or rain.
My Advice: Wait in front of the main Hoi An Bus Station, under the shelter. When you see the Bus 02 shuttle arriving, wave clearly to the driver, and they will stop for you at your location. This saves you 15–30 minutes of waiting in the sun or rain!
The journey covers about 35 km and takes approximately 45 minutes for the complete route. The itinerary was updated in April 2025.

The upgrade to the new Bus 02 has made a significant difference. It’s a real leap in quality, offering a much more pleasant way to travel between Hoi An and Da Nang. The clear pricing (thanks to the Futa partnership) eliminates any confusion or hassle.
The Pros:
The Cons:
If you are already arriving in Da Nang at the Central Bus Station or are looking for the absolute best value, the local bus is the ideal choice for getting to Hoi An. For travelers heading directly to or from the airport or train station, a private car or taxi might be more convenient.
